Spring Hill Leads The Way - May 14, 2014
TIFFIN, Ohio – Spring Hill led the charge for the 2014 All-ICAA Baseball awards. The Badgers won all three individual awards and had six players selected.
The ICAA is composed of NCAA Division II schools that are not in a conference. Baseball members are Bluefield State, Oakland City, Palm Beach Atlantic, Spring Hill and Union.
Coach of the Year was Frank Sims of Spring Hill. He led the Badgers to a 28-27 record and the ICAA championship. Sims is 800-806-3 in 30 years as a collegiate coach.
Player of the Year was Taylor Eads of Spring Hill. He had 11 doubles, two triples and 13 home runs, scored 45 runs, drove in 51 runs, had a slugging percentage of .744 and batted .423 in 50 games.
Pitcher of the Year was Keller Douglas of Spring Hill. He was 4-1 with eight saves, made 17 appearances and struck out 23 batters in 26 innings for a 1.03 Earned Run Average.
